I completed my initial teacher education in Hawaii and California, upgrading to a BEd in 1990 at ACU (Canberra) after returning to Australia. For a number of years, I taught in primary education in Canberra and middle school Sydney. In the years that followed, I was responsible for the development of technologies in learning, pedagogical practice and leadership at leading schools in Sydney and Canberra, K-12. In 2006, I worked for Apple, managing the Apple Distinguished educator program across Australia and New Zealand. Between leaving Apple and 2016, I held positions of leadership such as assistant Principal, Relieving Principal and Head of Diverse Learning, Literacy and Numeracy in several Sydney schools, across the Catholic and NSW Department of education sectors. I finished my Master of education (Research) and PhD at UTS in 2017 and 2020 respectively. My Phd research is about the way in which mobile technologies are being experienced by pre-adolescents.
